You’ve set up a schedule to study for the Praxis. However, something has come up, and you need to travel. Whether it’s a much-needed vacation, family emergency, or business meeting, it’s important to stick to your studies. Try these ways to prep for the Praxis while traveling to ensure that you don’t miss a beat with your studying.
Schedule Study Time
Make a study goal to meet while you’re traveling. Then, make a new study plan that will help you achieve that goal. Start by reviewing your travel itinerary. Look for available times for studying. You may need to wake up a little earlier or stay up a little later than usual to fit it in. If you’re planning on driving with others or taking public transportation, consider studying while you travel, too.
Bring Your Study Materials
Don’t forget to pack all of the materials that you’ll need to study. Review your study goals and study plan. Then, pack all of the materials that you’ll need. Some of the things that you may want to pack include:
- Study book(s)
- Laptop and charger
- Flashcards
- Notebook
- Writing utensils
If you don’t have a lot of space in your luggage, you could download apps to help you study. There are lots of great apps available. Check out iTunes University, Exam Vocabulary Builder, and Flashcards+ just to name a few. Take some time before you leave to ensure that it covers the material that you plan to review.
Take Care of Yourself
When traveling, a lot of people eat out more often. Instead of eating nutritious home-cooked meals, they turn to fast food and other junk foods. Don’t fall into this trap! You need to take care of yourself in order to stay mentally focused on your studies:
- Choose healthy meals.
- Get plenty of rest.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Plan for 30 minutes of exercise each day.
Doing these things will help you feel better and study more efficiently. Plan ahead, and do what you need to do to ensure that you can take good care of yourself while you’re traveling.
Rather than using your time away as a break from studying, use the time to keep the content fresh in your mind and cover the material you need to cover. No matter where you’re going or how long you’ll be away, you can prep for the Praxis while traveling by making a plan that will allow you to stick to your study plan and better prepare for the exam.
