Yale SOM accepts both the GMAT and the GRE for admission, including their online and shortened formats, with no preference given to either exam by the Admissions Committee.
Yale SOM's student body comes from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds, with 35% in STEM, 25% in Humanities and Social Sciences, 22% in Business, and 18% in Economics. The median undergraduate GPA is 3.64, and 16% of the students are the first in their families to attend college, indicating a diverse and academically strong cohort.
At Yale SOM, the majority of students come from backgrounds in Financial Services, Consulting, and Technology, with these industries representing 24%, 18%, and 12% of pre-MBA work experience respectively. The average work experience prior to the MBA program is 5.1 years.
Yale SOM graduates are highly sought after, with the majority entering consulting (53.6%) and finance (24%), showcasing a strong inclination towards these pivotal business sectors. The graduates are also geographically diverse, although a significant portion choose to work in the United States, with the Northeast being a popular region, reflecting Yale's influential presence in the American business landscape.
