Many of my students tell me that they find English to be very time conscious—full of grammar and vocabulary that deals with time in some way or another.
I agree—English has many rules for how to describe time. This is true not only of English verb tenses, but also with other aspects of the language, such as the adjectives we use to describe weekdays. In my last post about weekday adjectives, I gave detailed descriptions of the use and meaning of next, this, and last as weekday descriptors. The comic strip below is designed to help you memorize the basic rules of these words, and understand common mistakes.
