Start Preparing For Finals Right Now

At first, preparing for finals early can sound like stressful overkill. But if you get organized as soon as possible, you’ll actually be less stressed. Always keep finals in mind, even in the first few months of the semester, and the exams will be a breeze.

Write to your future self

When you’re taking notes, write in a way that your future self will understand. Try to write neatly, and form sentences that make sense. This way, you won’t have any missing gaps in the information.

Always keep tests in mind

Think about what information will be especially important for your upcoming tests. Try to focus most of your energy on it. Don’t waste your time on readings that you probably won’t be quizzed on.

Think about common themes

Think about common themes or connections in the material. In the final, you may be asked to write essays connecting ideas from different units. It’s helpful if you’ve already given these connections some thought.

Ask questions

Don’t wait to ask your teacher questions. Don’t procrastinate until right before the final like everyone else. Get your confusions out of the way as soon as they arise. You’ll feel more confident in your classes in general.
