It also probably means that you might be freaking out just a little bit. But no worries! Whether you\u2019re a week, a few short days, or a day away from taking the Big Test, here are some things you can do to make sure your test-taking experience is as optimal and stress-free as possible. And the best thing is that\u00a0so many of these tips you can incorporate in your daily life in order to be\u00a0an awesome human being period \ud83d\ude42<\/span><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sat.magoosh.com\/3-day-sat-study-schedule-pdf?utm_source=satblog&#038;utm_medium=blog&#038;utm_campaign=satstudyschedule&#038;utm_term=button&#038;utm_content=3-day-sat-study-schedule\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/files\/2013\/11\/cta-sat-button-3daySchedule.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"535\" height=\"72\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/files\/2013\/11\/cta-sat-button-3daySchedule.png 535w, https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/files\/2013\/11\/cta-sat-button-3daySchedule-300x40.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Take one last practice test<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you have a week to a few days before the real thing, a\u00a0last <a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/full-length-sat-practice-tests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SAT practice test<\/a> can be a good gauge to see which topics you should spend the most brushing up on during these final days.\u00a0Try not to feel nervous about your results and even if you don&#8217;t get your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/when-sat-scores-are-bad-now-what\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">target practice score<\/a>, keep thinking positively while working on your weaknesses and incorporating as many as these\u00a0tips as possible, which go beyond studying, but can still help you increase your score in these last few moments nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do some practice questions<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Luckily, the best thing you can do so that you\u2019re at your best for <a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/sat-test-day-walk-through\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SAT test day<\/a> is not to cram and spend every waking moment studying. It\u2019s still a good idea, though, to do a few practice problems\u00a0during the week of your test. Whether you&#8217;re studying with <a href=\"https:\/\/sat.magoosh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Magoosh<\/a>\u00a0or with another resource,\u00a0carve out 30 minutes to an hour for working on and reviewing practice problems on all sections, specifically focusing on questions types and topics that have given you the most trouble in the past.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Exercise\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Put down that book (or computer) and go for a run! Exercise during this week brings a whole\u00a0bevy of <a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/blog\/5-reasons-to-exercise-during-test-prep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">benefits<\/a> specific to your SAT needs. You can even incorporate some light-intensity exercise <em>while\u00a0<\/em>you&#8217;re hitting the books to better retain and recall information.\u00a0Who&#8217;da thunk it??<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eat right<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/gen\/snack-your-way-smarter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">plenty<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/blog\/the-best-and-easiest-study-snacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">foods<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> you can eat during the days before your test that are rich in nutrients and are linked to improved brain activity. Make sure that you eat a hearty, protein-filled breakfast on the day of the test and lay off the caffeine if you&#8217;re not already hooked!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meditate<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You may laugh and think it&#8217;s silly, but meditation is actually linked to <a href=\"http:\/\/well.blogs.nytimes.com\/2013\/04\/03\/how-meditation-might-boost-your-test-scores\/?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">improved test scores<\/a>.\u00a0Here are some <a href=\"http:\/\/marc.ucla.edu\/body.cfm?id=22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">guided meditations<\/a> to help you get started ~on your journey to inner peace and otherworldly\u00a0SAT scores~ [Insert floaty meditation voice here].<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The night before\u2026.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Relax<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You might want to do a few light practice problems (definitely not a full-length practice test) the night before, but consider this your free night. Fill this time with cute videos if you want (they&#8217;ll actually help you focus on test day). You earned it!<\/span><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SAT Last Minute Tips: How to Cram\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-Oe00Q1EhLQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Get everything ready <\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Make sure you set aside <a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/what-to-bring-to-the-sat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">everything you\u2019ll need for SAT test day<\/a> the night before so that you won\u2019t have to worry about the morning of when you\u2019re groggy or anxious.\u00a0Get a comfy-but-not-too-comfy\u00a0outfit ready and a\u00a0bag full of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">SAT Admission ticket<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acceptable photo ID<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A few non-mechanical sharpened #2 pencils (with good erasers) <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Watch (preferably analog but if digital, make extra sure that your alarm is off)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Calculator with new batteries<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Snacks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bottle of water<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although it\u2019s advised that you leave your phone at home, if you need to bring it to the testing center, triple and quadruple check that it is off off off <em>before<\/em> you take your test. If your phone goes off during the test, you will likely be sent home and your scores invalidated.<\/p>\n<p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Set multiple alarms<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This may just be the most important test you\u2019ll have taken in your life at this point. The last thing you\u2019ll want to do is oversleep. Make sure you also give yourself ample time to wake up for a good breakfast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sleep early and sleep tight<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a matter of fact, you\u2019ll probably want to spend the entire week before the SAT making sure that you\u2019re going to sleep early and staying well-rested. You can choose to spend the time before going to bed doing some practice problems or reviewing formulas or strategies that will particularly help you on the test, which can also improve recall, but make sure you do so in a timely manner.\u00a0The\u00a0most counterproductive thing you can do is\u00a0sacrifice those minimum 8 hours in favor of cramming\u2014just don&#8217;t do it!!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anything else?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We covered some of this already, but check out our nifty <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/sat\/files\/2014\/07\/mockup_12.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">infographic<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for some more unexpected yet fun suggestions on proven methods to stay on top of your mental game and thereby improve your score.
