Don\u2019t worry, you\u2019re not alone! Test-taking anxiety is very common, and in most cases, it is manageable, too. Let\u2019s talk about some tips to cope with <a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/praxis-study-guide-part-4-beating-test-stress\/\">Praxis test anxiety<\/a>. <\/p>\n<h2>Create a Study Plan in Advance<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/praxis-core-one-month-study-plan\/\">Creating a study plan<\/a> that details what you will study and when in the weeks before the test will keep you from cramming and help you feel (and be!) well-prepared. Once you have your study plan, you won\u2019t have that anxious feeling that you have to study every waking minute or pull crazy all-nighters. You can relax knowing that as long as you stick to the plan, you are all good! \ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n<h2>Practice Self-Care<\/h2>\n<p>Often self-care and relaxation is the first thing to go when we are busy or stressed, but this is when it is most important! If you covered the material for your study plan today, then STOP STUDYING until tomorrow. I know, that\u2019s not what you expected to read! But your brain needs a break to process what you have learned. You can\u2019t be \u201con\u201d all the time.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/14\/files\/2016\/05\/relax.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-613\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/14\/files\/2016\/05\/relax-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"praxis test anxiety-magoosh\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-613\" srcset=\"https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/files\/2016\/05\/relax-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/files\/2016\/05\/relax-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/files\/2016\/05\/relax-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/magoosh.com\/praxis\/files\/2016\/05\/relax.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nYou need to get 8 hours of sleep per night, exercise, and eat nutritious foods in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/schools.magoosh.com\/schools-blog\/top-5-stress-management-techniques-for-teachers\">take care of your body and mind<\/a>. It can also help to take deep breaths when you begin to feel overwhelmed. Then on test day, you will be a lean, mean, test-taking machine, not a zombie version of yourself. <\/p>\n<h2>Have a Mantra for Test Day<\/h2>\n<p>As test day nears, it is common for worries and anxiety to increase, even if you are totally on track for success. Take a step back and recognize that just because you are feeling nervous doesn\u2019t actually mean that there is anything to be nervous about. In the day or two before the test, review where your testing location is, what time your test is, when you need to arrive, and what you need to bring. The night before, get together your test-taking materials and anything else you need, like directions to the test site.<br \/>\nThen, choose a manta or phrase to repeat to yourself before and during the test. It can be something as simple as, \u201cI\u2019ve got this,\u201d or, \u201cI have studied and I am ready.\u201d Choose something that works for you!
