Mirror the Job Description<\/h2>\n

You shouldn\u2019t just read through the job description<\/a>. You need to really study it. Review it for keywords to include in your resume and cover letter, but don\u2019t overdo it by including too many of these keywords<\/a>. Then, respond to each of the job requirements listed for skills, work experience, schooling, and more. Show how well you match the job description.<\/p>\n

Focus on Your Accomplishments<\/h2>\n

Rather than describing your responsibilities and tasks, write about your accomplishments<\/a>. How did you excel in past employment positions? What have you done to go above and beyond what was expected of you? Quantify your accomplishments as much as possible. How many kids did you supervise in daycare? How did you help the students you tutored improve their grades? Use numbers to show what you\u2019ve accomplished.<\/p>\n

Remove Irrelevant Details<\/h2>\n
