Many people need to take the Praxis more than once before they pass. Needing to retake the Praxis can be frustrating, but it isn\u2019t a deal breaker. As long as you have the time (and fees), you most likely can retake the Praxis as many times as you need to pass.<\/p>\n

How Many Times Can I Retake the Praxis?<\/h2>\n

ETS does not have any limits on how many times you can retake the Praxis. Some states and institutions may have retake limits, though. Check with your school and your state certification agency to see if they have any retake limits.<\/p>\n

How Often Can I Retake the Praxis?<\/h2>\n

You can take the Praxis once every 21 days, not including your initial test date. Even if you canceled your test scores on the first test, you still have to wait the 21 days. You should be able to register for another test while you are waiting, just make sure the next test date isn\u2019t too soon.<\/p>\n

Do I Still Need to Pay?<\/h2>\n

Can I Retake the Praxis Subtests?<\/h2>\n

If you need to retake just one section of the Praxis Core, say just the Math section (for example), you can do that. The registration and retake process is the same, except with one Praxis subtest (and the corresponding fee) instead of the full three-part Praxis Core.<\/p>\n

If you take a test that includes subtests (such as Elementary Education), you must also wait the 21 days to retake the subtest.
