How Do I Send in My Praxis Score Report?

Knowing where you need to send your Praxis score report is not always obvious, and it can be an expensive process if you don’t take advantage of the option to designate your free score recipients at the testing center. Take a look at the FAQs below for everything you need to know about sending in your Praxis scores.

Q: When will I get my Praxis score report?

For continuously-offered Praxis exams, such as the Praxis Core Academic Skills tests, score reports are available in your online Praxis account 10-16 business days after your test date. For Praxis tests offered during specific testing windows, you will receive your scores 10-16 business days after the testing window closes. You can also order score reports by phone or mail/fax.

Q: Will my Praxis score report be automatically sent to my state’s Department of Education?

In most states, yes. Scores are automatically reported to the state Department of Education in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

It’s important to note that if the state you take the test in is different from the state in which you want to apply for teacher certification, then you must list that state as a score recipient. If your state (or the state you want to be credentialed in) is not listed above, then you also must list that state as a score recipient in order for your scores to be sent to that state.

Q: Will my Praxis score report be automatically sent to my university, college, or teacher training program?

No, your scores will not automatically be sent to your teacher training program. Most teacher training programs or education degree programs at colleges or universities require a copy of your Praxis scores, so make sure to check the requirements before you test and send a copy to your school if necessary. Be sure to take advantage of the option of sending up to four free score reports when you take the test in order to avoid the extra expense of an additional score report later on!

Q: How many institutions can I send my Praxis scores to?

You can designate up to four score recipients on test day. After that, you can choose to order as many additional score reports as you like for a $50 fee.

Q: How do I order additional Praxis score reports?

After test day, you can order additional score reports for $50 from within your Praxis online account. Your score report will indicate the highest score earned on that test. Additional score reports are issued between 7 and 10 days after the request.

Q: How long is my Praxis score report valid?

Praxis scores are good for 10 years. Online score reports are available for one calendar year after the score reporting date. After this time, you will need to request additional score reports for $50 each, so make sure you save a copy of your score report in case you need it beyond one year.
