How to Reserve One of the PMP Exam Dates

How long do you need to prepare for the PMP exam? Once you know how long you need to study, reserve one of the PMP exam dates. There are 2 ways to do this: online or over the phone. Depending on the method you need to take to register for your exam, here are the steps that you should follow:

To register online, first head to the Prometric website. Start by selecting your geographical location. Then, you’ll need to read through the policies and data privacy notice. Take a few minutes to read through these documents before agreeing to the terms.

On the next screen, enter your PMI Eligibility ID number and the first 4 letters of your last name. This is how you can verify who you are for the test. If you don’t have a PMI Eligibility ID, visit the PMI website and complete the application. You need to prove that you’re eligible to take the exam in the first place. This step must be completed to lock in a date and time for the exam.

After completing these steps, you’ll be ready to schedule your test. Review the PMP exam dates that are available in your area. You may have several testing centers near you. If this is the case, you’ll have more options for the day and time to take the exam.

You’ll find that the dates and times vary depending on the location and other circumstances. Plan on taking the exam from about 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or in the afternoon from around 1 PM to 5:30 PM.

Once you’ve selected your date, confirm your contact information and complete the process.

How to Reserve One of the PMP Exam Dates

To schedule your exam over the telephone, call 1-800-268-2802 in North America or 1-800-529-3590 for the hearing impaired. The Prometric Telephone System is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM Eastern time.

If you live outside of North America, there are different phone numbers that can be used to register for the exam. Find the phone number you need on the Prometric website.

Make sure that you reserve one of the PMP exam dates right away, so you can save your seat. Most exam dates are set several months ahead of time. If you plan on taking the exam more than 6 months out, you may need to wait to complete this process until it’s closer to the time for you to take the exam. After selecting an exam date, start studying and prepare to pass the exam.
