There are a few things that you can do to decrease your anxiety. This requires patience and persistence, so try and dedicate a few minutes each day to check open opportunities. To help you remember to complete this task each day, do it at the same time each day and set your phone to remind you. Hopefully, you will get an opportunity to test at your desired location that will meet any testing accommodations required.

If you still have not been able to successfully change the location of your exam, you need to prepare yourself to go to a different location. Take a test drive to the testing site around the same time your test is scheduled, scope out the available parking, and identify any potential issues. If you are not driving, learn about other options, such as public transportation or cab fares. Plan to give yourself extra time so that you can arrive early and have a few moments to just relax.

Delay Test Shortly

If you are extremely stressed out about having to take your test at a different location, and you believe that this will have a negative impact on your success, you may consider scheduling your exam at a slightly later date. Review the upcoming schedule at your desired location, and see how much of a delay you will be faced with. If you are considering current potential job offers, will this delay impact your ability to apply and complete the interviewing process? At this point, you must weigh the various options and decide which way you will most likely succeed, both on your NCLEX-RN and on securing your first nursing position.

Whichever choice you make, just try and prepare yourself as best as you can. Being prepared will decrease your stress and allow you to stay focused on succeeding on your NCLEX-RN. Good Luck – I know you have worked hard and success is within your grasp.
