With the new MCAT comes a new scoring system and point scale. MCAT 45 is no longer the standard of perfection for aspiring medical students. Students may be wondering about the highest MCAT score–what is it and how do I get it?<\/p>\n

Highest MCAT Score<\/h2>\n

The first part of the question is much easier to answer: The highest MCAT score<\/a> under the new system and point scale is a 528.<\/p>\n

The second part of the question–how do you get a 528–is much trickier. There is no set formula for how to get a 528: there are no number of hours you can put into studying or number of formulas you need to know to guarantee you will get a 528. In fact, it more than likely involves some luck–getting some passages that are easier for you to read, a few lucky guesses on questions here and there. Rather than a formula to guarantee a perfect score, here are some principles that will increase your likelihood of getting that 528.<\/p>\n

  1. Study hard in your undergraduate classes.<\/strong> There is no test preparation company or books that will provide you as much depth of study as your college undergraduate classes. Working hard in these classes and learning them well will provide you the foundation to do well in the MCAT subjects. Along those lines..<\/li>\n
  2. Take many different and many difficult classes in college.<\/strong> If your goal is truly to get a 528, don’t settle for the introductory level chemistry or physics class. Take the more advanced ones and take upper level classes. The better you understand the theory and science, the better prepared you will be to ace the MCAT. Remember, the MCAT tests your ability to work with the introductory level material. Do you know what else makes your work with introductory material? Upper level classes! Also take a wide range of classes–take history, English, sociology. The more well-versed you are in multiple subjects, the better prepared you will be for reading passages in the CARS section.<\/li>\n
  3. Schedule your specific MCAT studying in advance and stick to your regimen.<\/strong> It takes discipline to study for the MCAT. It also takes time to master the specific exam material, even if you are advanced in the science concepts. Give yourself enough time to work on and address your weaknesses.   4. Relax and get a good night\u2019s sleep.<\/strong> The pursuit of perfection can be stressful and tiring. You need to be on your A game on test day.
