AACOMAS<\/a>, which stands for American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (a mouthful, I know), is the application service website through which pre-med students apply to DO medical schools. Through AACOMAS, you will enter your personal information, academic history, extracurricular experiences, personal statement, and of course, your MCAT scores. Entering your MCAT scores is one thing, and having them verified<\/em> is another.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sending MCAT Scores to AACOMAS<\/h2>\n

In order to send your MCAT scores over to AACOMAS, you\u2019ll need to log into your AAMC account<\/a>. Once you\u2019re logged in:<\/p>\n

1. Click on \u2018My Reports\u2019 <\/strong>from the menu along the top of the page.<\/p>\n

2. Click \u2018Send Scores Electronically\u2019<\/strong> under the \u2018Actions\u2019 column:<\/p>\n

3. In the search box, start typing in the word \u2018osteopathic\u2019 until you see American Assoc. of Colleges of Osteopathic Med. App. Serv.<\/strong> populate in the results:<\/p>\n

4. Now, simply click \u2018Confirm and Send Scores,\u2019<\/strong> check off the two statements in the box that pops up, and click \u2018Send Scores.\u2019<\/strong> Done and done!<\/p>\n

How do I Make Sure that AACOMAS Received My MCAT Scores?<\/h2>\n

Back in your AACOMAS account, click on \u2018Check Status\u2019<\/strong> from the menu on top of the page. Under the Application Materials section of your status page, you should have three items listed: Transcripts, Evaluations, and Standardized Tests. If AACOMAS has received your MCAT scores from AAMC, you\u2019ll see the word \u2018Received\u2019<\/strong> with the number of scores you sent (reflective of how many times you took the MCAT) with a check mark next to that number. Mission accomplished \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Will Every DO School I Apply to be Able to See My MCAT Scores?<\/h2>\n

Absolutely! By submitting your MCAT scores, letters of rec, transcripts, etc. to AACOMAS and AMCAS<\/a> (the MD Application Service), these central application services can then forward this information to all the schools you apply to. This saves you the time and effort (and a whole lot of money) of sending all of your information to each individual school.
