Most notably, the multiple-choice portion of the LSAT will move to primarily in-person testing, with remote testing available only in limited circumstances such as approved accommodations or extreme distance from a testing center.<\/p>\n<p>The content and structure of the LSAT itself are not changing, and only the testing experience and delivery platform are being updated. To get you set up, we\u2019ve compiled all the important dates you need to know here\u2014along with our best advice on getting the most out of your October 2026 remote LSAT prep.<\/p>\n<h2>The October LSAT<\/h2>\n<h3>October LSAT Dates<\/h3>\n<p>The primary test dates are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday, October 7, 2026<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, October 8, 2026<\/li>\n<li>Friday, October 9, 2026<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, October 10, 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>October LSAT Score Release Dates<\/h3>\n<p>October LSAT scores will be released via LSAC accounts on <strong>Wednesday, October 28, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Before you receive your scores for the October LSAT, you\u2019ll need to have a completed LSAT Writing sample. Because of this, LSAT opened the Writing section eight days before the test administration. You can complete this at your convenience, but it\u2019ll have to be done before you can get your scores.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a \u201cscore preview\u201d option for the October test, which costs $46 by Tuesday, October 6, 2026 and $87 from Saturday, October 17, 2026 through Monday, October 26, 2026. (If you have a fee waiver, that will also apply to this option, which you\u2019ll get automatically.) You won\u2019t get your scores any earlier, but you will have six days after their release to decide if you want to keep or cancel them. If you do nothing, your scores will be kept and sent to schools.<\/p>\n<h3>Registration (and Auto-Registration)<\/h3>\n<p>If you have not already registered for the October remote LSAT, the deadline is <strong>Thursday, August 27, 2026<\/strong>. This is also the deadline to request accommodations or assistance.<\/p>\n<h3>October LSAT Cost<\/h3>\n<p>Plan on spending around $253 for test registration, if you haven&#8217;t previously registered for the October exam.<\/p>\n<h3>Upcoming LSAT Dates<\/h3>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to (or can&#8217;t) take the October LSAT, there&#8217;s still one more date in 2026: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/lsat\/lsat-dates-deadlines\/november-lsat\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">November<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Recap<\/h2>\n<p>The deadline to register for the October LSAT will be here soon. Be sure to take some time and determine whether the October LSAT is right for you by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determining your baseline LSAT score based on a practice test;<\/li>\n<li>Setting your goal score based on where you want to attend law school; and<\/li>\n<li>Deciding how much time you need to dedicate to LSAT prep.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you work through these steps, you\u2019ll be confident in the test date you choose.
