Announcing the new SAT Test Prep App

The High School Team at Magoosh has been hard at work on new, free test prep apps. First there was the ACT Flashcard App and then the ACT Test Prep App. But what about the new SAT? We haven’t forgotten about you, SAT studiers. We have also been working on a brand new SAT Test Prep App!

The new app has all new content to reflect the updates made to the SAT in March 2016 with the launch of the Redesigned SAT.

What is new about the new SAT Test Prep App?

Yes, we have had SAT Prep apps before, which is why we know they really help our students study. But this version of the app has been updated with new lessons for the redesigned SAT!

Turns out we have been studying the old SAt...My bad. Should study with new SAT test prep app!

Math Lessons

We added math lessons for the new Algebra, Problem Solving and Data Analysis sections as well as the “Passport to Advanced Math” section including Geometry, Trigonometry and Complex Equations.

Reading lessons

We also added new reading lessons that focus on fundamentals and strategies for tackling the charts & graphs questions and passage comparisons. (Pro-tip: Reading in your every-day life will go along way in preparing you for this test).

Writing Lessons

Finally, our new writing lessons focus on sentence structure, word usage (in context), standard English conventions (eg. commas, semi-colons) and more strategically, how to approach the passages.

It’s faster and looks better too

Beyond these content improvements, we’ve made major updates to the interface and load-speed of the lessons, which we think will make navigating and using the app a much better experience. We hope you enjoy!

How will the SAT Test Prep app help me?

There is no denying that doing practice tests will help you prepare for the exam. But if you are just doing practice problems, and not learning the concepts and strategies behind them, you won’t do any better. In fact, you will likely keep making the same mistakes.

This is where high quality, engaging lessons can add a lot of value to your preparation. Watching short lessons on topics you need to review for the exam is like having an online tutor to guide you through how to study and practice for the exam. This SAT Tutor, Chris Lele, to be exact:
Chris Lele expert on the SAT test prep app

Our resident expert SAT tutor, Chris Lele, has coached students to perfect scores and spent years designing the lessons that you need to improve your score no matter where you start.

So whether you are aiming for a 1600 or to improve your score from a PSAT, using the Magoosh new SAT Test Prep app will help you diagnose your strengths and weaknesses in math, writing and reading so that you can improve. Using the app, you will:

  • Learn the fundamental and advanced concepts in all three sections (math, reading, and writing)
  • Diagnose your strengths and weaknesses as you study
  • See practice example problems solved by expert SAT tutors
  • Become a master of study strategies and know the test like the back of your hand.

What will I get with the app?

Over 25 short, well crafted video lessons. Each lesson is 3 to 12 minutes long, so you can listen or watch them during those in-between times or binge watch for a few hours. You are in charge of what you watch and how much you practice.

Did we mention that the videos in the app are free? We made our top 25 videos in all subject areas completely free so that you can kick off your studying immediately. If you need more, you can always upgrade to our premium product and get all 200+ videos.

The SAT Test Prep app is for studying, not having fun

Great for beginners and advanced students

This app is perfect for both beginners and advanced students since the videos range from introductory math material such as “Intro to Percents” all the way to advanced math material such as “Advanced Trig Formulas”. The reading section focuses on strategies to approach the SAT reading test such as “Active Reading” and how to interpret “The Graph”.
