Being a high schooler is hard – even harder if you plan to attend a college after you graduate. I should know, I am in high school too. But, let me take a few steps back and introduce myself. My name is Dana and I am a new High School Blogger!
A few facts about me:
1. I am a rising senior at a public school in Oakland, California
I am the current captain of my school’s golf team and mock trial club. I also participate in creative writing club and theatre. I think the most enjoyable part of my high school experience has been being a part of my school’s ASB. I have a lot of spirit for my school, and I think participating is the best way to get the most out of high school.
2. I am not a perfect student
I do not claim to be a perfect student and be on track to the top colleges in the world. I am just like everyone else. I try my best, but I make mistakes; I have flaws. My grade point average fluctuates between 3.7 to a 4.2 depending on the time of year and the classes I am taking. I try to take a handful of advance placement classes to challenge myself but that is exactly what they are, a challenge.
3. I am a hard worker
While I am not a perfect student, I try to make up for it in my work ethic. I try to keep busy by participating in multiple internships and studying for SAT/ACT. I have taken the ACT and plan to take the SAT this October. I am obviously not an expert, but I do have a lot of knowledge on both tests.
While writing for Magoosh I hope you can take some of my knowledge and apply it to your high school career. I will be blogging from SAT/ACT prep, college admissions, scholarships, high school life, and more! Don’t be shy to comment ask questions and submit comments. I would love to hear from everyone!
