Remember back in elementary school when December meant cutting out paper snowflakes in class and exchanging Christmas cookies? Those were good times.
Unfortunately, when you’re a teenager, December usually just means studying for finals. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the season! Here are some ways of getting in the holiday spirit, even when your main focus is your grades.
Listen to holiday music
Christmas music always puts me in a happy mood. There’s no harm in listening to “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey when you’re doing math problems. In fact, it will make them go by quicker.
Drink holiday beverages
Forget the boring coffee or Red Bull you’ve been drinking every day. Have a fun holiday-themed drink like peppermint hot chocolate. The warmth will comfort you and decrease stress.
Take shopping breaks
Take study breaks to shop for gifts for family and friends. It’s fun! Plus you’re probably going to have to get it done at some point.
Don’t be afraid to pull out that Christmas sweater
Wear festive holiday-themed clothes! This is the only chance you’ll have the whole year. Every time you look in the mirror, you’ll be reminded that winter break is oh so close.
