The Common Application has just released its 2016-2017 essay prompts…and it turns out they are exactly the same as last year’s prompts.
A little anti-climatic, but hey, in a year with so much tumult–a whole new SAT, whaaat? A new Coalition Application?–it may suit you just fine that the Common App is staying the course.
These essay questions give you a wide range of topics to choose from, from the general to the specific.
My favorite remains Prompt 1: Share your story. This is essentially the replacement for “topic of your choice,” and it can lead to some beautiful, engaging, memorable responses.
Which Common App Essay Prompt Should I Choose?
So which ones of these Common Application prompts are the easiest to write? Which ones should you avoid? Check out our post with advice on how to approach every single one of the essay options. (This post is from last year, but all the prompts are the same this year, so the advice still stands!).
