Hey, everyone. My name is Maddi, and I am one of Magoosh’s two new high school bloggers! I’ll be blogging to you guys about everything from SAT to college admissions to junior year PTSD.
Oy vey. The struggle is real.
A few things to know about me first:
I’m currently a high school junior in California, and I love to write. I’ve been writing since before I could hold a pencil, if that even makes sense. I would tell my father what to write, and he’d transcribe my stories. So far, my work has been published or is forthcoming in seven literary journals/anthologies.
I love doodling, too, and I’m famous among my friends for drawing more disturbing doodles than any sixteen-year-old girl should be capable of procuring. I count this as a life achievement. I also have an incurable sweet tooth and an even more incurable sleep schedule. I am slowly turning nocturnal.
On a more relevant note, I took the SAT last November after studying my gluteus maximus off for four months, and as a second semester junior, I’ve begun looking into the college admissions process.
May the Lord have mercy on my soul.
The SAT and college admissions
I will not claim to be an expert in SAT, but I am definitely familiar with it. As for college admissions, I may not be a professional, but I’ll be going through the process as I write these blog entries! So, for all those Class of 2015 folks, you won’t have to suffer alone. Or maybe you will, in case I die from a stress-induced seizure.
Or diabetes. I should really lay off those sugar cookies.
I truly hope that my perspective as a high school student will prove helpful to any of you who might be reading. I’m passionate about helping people, and I think the internet is fabulous in that it can connect us no matter how far apart we are.
I’m absolutely pumped to get started on this journey. Make sure to check back for more blog posts! We are entering some of the most important years of our lives…let’s reach our fullest potential! We’re all in this together.
