BEC CPA Exam Tomorrow

BEC CPA Exam Tomorrow: What to Do

Alright folks, it is show time. Tomorrow is your day to shine on the BEC section of the Uniform CPA Exam. Understandably, you may feel a little tense over the next 24 hours. However, if you follow these tips and tricks of what to do and in the next section what not do, you will have the opportunity to be more successful on the BEC CPA Exam tomorrow.

Let’s do this. In particular, I want you to review the fundamentals, relax, and get sleep. Are you ready? Okay. Just do it!

Review the Fundamentals

Having a study partner review the fundamentals with you may give you some added motivation to succeed on the BEC section of the CPA Exam 🙂 It is important that you do not attempt to outright learn new material. The day before you take the CPA Exam you should consider reviewing formulas, mnemonics, and flash cards. Going over these study tools will boost your confidence as you reinforce the many nuances of BEC that you already have a strong foundation on. In addition, you may find it helpful to do a few practice multiple choice questions and a written communication task. Specifically, paying attention to your time management strategy will help you succeed on the real deal.

After reviewing the fundamentals, you need to relax as our good friend Derek Zoolander does. Giving yourself an ample amount of time to get in your zone and calm down any CPA Exam jitters will help you feel more confident. Whether this entails doing yoga, watching Netflix, or calling your Mom 🙂 (definitely call your Mom), you need to let loose all that pent up energy. TLC (tender loving care) or perhaps GTL (gym tan laundry) is important for you to be more focused tomorrow.

Get Sleep

Once you have reviewed the fundamentals and relaxed, it is time to get some sleep. Let’s just hope you do not live in Bam Margera’s house 🙂 Getting ample sleep is essential for you to be on your “A” game. Do not go for an all-nighter. I repeat, do not go for an all-nighter. You may find it difficult to go to sleep immediately, but here are some tips that may help: turn off the lights, turn off the TV, and put away your smartphone.

BEC CPA Exam Tomorrow: What NOT to Do

We have discussed what you should do before the BEC section of the CPA Exam. Let’s take a look at what not to do the day before this section.

You will not drink caffeine. I will not drink caffeine. You will not cram. I will not cram. You will not take practice exams. I will not take practice Exams. Move along 🙂

No Caffeine

Not consuming caffeine goes to reinforce getting enough sleep. Going to bed may difficult enough as is. Avoiding caffeine especially in the afternoon and evening will help you fall asleep easier. If you insist on getting your cup of Joe, please do not drink more than you normally do.

No Cramming

If you cram, you are fighting a losing battle. There is no possible way you will be able to wrap all of those chocolates 🙂 Cramming is not an effective strategy. You may become more confused than you were before. Instead, you should highlight the fundamentals. Know what you know. Know what you do not know. That way, come test day, you will be able to recognize when you should attempt to answer the question or guess and move on.

No Practice Exams

Lastly, we know you are the best of the best of the best 🙂 However, the best of the best of the best do not take a full practice exam the day before taking the BEC section of the CPA Exam. Could you imagine running a practice marathon and then the next day running in the Boston Marathon? I sure couldn’t. I would be so exhausted from the practice marathon. Likewise, taking a full practice exam the day before the BEC section of the CPA Exam will make you exhausted on the real deal. Save your energy for when it counts. As always, remember to breathe.
