So you want to go to Brown
As the university is part of the Ivy League, you probably know the application process will be quite a challenge. But attending the same school as Emma Watson is worth it.
What you need to get in
Brown admits students who they believe will make a contribution to the school community, whether in their academics or their extracurricular activities. So find out which subject areas interest you. Get involved in clubs, hobbies, or sports.
But you also need to make sure you get Ivy League worthy grades and test scores.
The majority of the accepted class of 2018 got very high scores. For Critical Reading, 62% got between 700 and 800. For Math, 69% received between 700-800, and for Writing, 66% scored within this same high range. To be able to compete with other applicants, you’ll probably need to score above a 2100.
What You Can Do
Balance is key. Study hard but try to find your passions. To get in, you need to allot equal time for homework, standardized test studying, and outside of school pursuits. So make space in your schedule for your English essay, the SAT and soccer practice. Brown wants to see your achievements and hard work in all three areas.
