Sometimes, you need to stay awake just a little bit longer, whether you have to complete an assignment, finish studying for a test, or submit a paper. And even though all you want to do is sleep, you can’t let that happen. Since we’ve all heard of drinking coffee and taking power naps, here are some of the lesser-known ways to keep alert enough to do schoolwork.
Eat a snack
Just the act of eating something may awaken your senses and stop you from dozing off. But eat something light, because if your snack is too heavy, it may end up making you more tired.
Go in a cold place
If you’re too cozy and warm, you’re a lot more likely to fall asleep. So even if you’re slightly uncomfortable, go somewhere cold, as it will keep you alert.
Listen to energetic music
Do not listen to calming music. Instead, play something that gets you energized and excited. It will definitely motivate you to get your work done.
Take a shower
Sometimes a nice, refreshing shower can give you a new, fresh mind, allowing you to work more productively. When you feel clean, you feel more organized and capable.
