Watch Lessons Related to GRE Questions

Here at Magoosh, we’ve been busy keeping up with all of your great feedback. In the past 6 months, we’ve added content for the new GRE, a new dashboard, video lessons covering every topic on the GRE, and much more.

During this time, we’ve also noticed that students use our GRE prep program in different ways – those who are just starting tend to watch the video lessons first and then tackle practice questions, while those who are further along typically start with questions and then go back to lessons for the concepts they need to review. And that’s why we recently added the Related Lessons feature.

How does Related Lessons work?

If you already use Magoosh, you know that we have a video and text explanation for every question. Now, you can watch GRE video lessons that teach the foundations of the concepts tested in the question. For instance, let’s say you are faced with the following question:

An office has 6 employees; there are 5 female employees and 1 male employee. In how many ways can a 3-person committee be created if the committee must include the male employee?

A) 10
B) 12
C) 15
D) 24
E) 30

If you don’t know about the fundamental counting principle or when to use combinations then this question may feel impossible. You may even watch the video explanation and still feel stymied. With Related Lessons, you can learn the underlying concepts that you need to answer this question. We provide links to the video lessons for these concepts. The screenshot below shows the Related Lessons section that you will see under the explanation to this question. When you are in the product, you can click on those links, watch the videos, and then get back to practicing.

Feedback on this feature

We’ve already received a lot of positive feedback on this new feature, here are a few of my favorites:

I really appreciate for introducing this feature since it will encourage us to drill down to the basics and enable the aspirants to tackle similar questions in the test.

You guys are awesome. I bought the whole Manhattan GRE study package prior to finding you guys online and now i pretty much only use Magoosh. I wish you guys had LSAT prep a couple years ago. Face-palm.

I’d love to hear what you think in the comments section below!

By the way, students who use Magoosh GRE improve their scores by an average of 8 points on the new scale (150 points on the old scale.) Click here to learn more.
