About 2 months ago I announced the release of our GRE Android app. In that article, I mentioned that we had an iPhone app in the works. Well we learned that it’s much harder to get your app approved by Apple than by Google, but we made it and now our GRE iPhone app has arrived!
In true Magoosh fashion, we’ve kept the app simple. It contains only video lessons, no practice questions. You can always use the web browser if you’d like to practice on your phone. The app also works on an iPad. We’ve had amazing feedback so far and look forward to hearing more from all of you!
How does the iPhone app work?
It’s free to download. If you already have a Magoosh Premium account, you can sign in and access all of the video lessons by clicking entering your Magoosh credentials and clicking “Sign In”. Beware that passwords with special characters may not work, in which case I recommend changing your password. Now many of you may not have a Premium Magoosh account, to which I respond “go get one”
But even if you don’t have an account, you can still download the app and create a trial account by entering an email and password and clicking “Create Account”. You’ll get access to a sample of video lessons. To get full access, you’ll need to purchase a Premium account.
After you sign in, you’ll see a list of Math video lessons. You can switch to Verbal or Writing by clicking on the tabs at the bottom. Overall, we have more than 20 hours of video! And if you watch a video on the iPhone app, we’ll mark it as watched on your regular Magoosh account, or if you “finish” a video, we’ll mark it as finished in the web version too – all your information is fully synchronized.
To watch a video, just tap on it. I recommend using wi-fi if available, but 3G, while slower, will work.

Hi guys, I have an android and just bought the premium product, how do I download the application to my phone? thank you
Hey Martin – happy to help! Just go to the Google Play store on your phone (it should come pre-installed) and search for Magoosh GRE. Here’s more information about the Android app: http://magoosh.com/gre/2012/magoosh-gre-android-app-prep-on-the-go/
You can also install it by clicking Install on this page assuming you are logged into your Google account on your computer and on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magoosh.gre&hl=en
If you run into any problems, shoot us an email at support (at) magoosh (dot) com and we’ll get back to you pretty quickly. Thanks!

Hi
I have a suggestion. I use your Magoosh Ipad App and I`m very impressed with it. It could be great if there is a feature to view the lessons offline. Currently, we need Wifi or 3G connection to view the lessons. As you are aware, most of the students would be always on the go with their ipad, so, it would be of great help if we could save these videos for offline viewing. I use the TED Talk ipad app, and it has this feature. I would love it if I could view magoosh contents on my ipad while travelling in a train or a bus without having to depend on 3G or Wifi.
Thanks
Arun
Hi, Arun
That’s a great idea that we already have in mind for the future, but as of right now, we’re concentrating on making the other features of the app better, so it may be a while before we even start to really work on offline viewing.
Thank you for your feedback and feel free to let us know if you have any other suggestions or questions!
Best,
Margarette
