New GRE in August 2011

Educational Testing Service recently revealed plans to extensively revise the GRE for August 2011. We’ve heard this before. In 2006 they promised new formats and unique question-types for a fall 2007 linear version (same exam for everyone). Didn’t happen. When it became clear ETS couldn’t secure each and every testing site, they defaulted to the previous version. However, this time ETS seems intent on change. But, we’re still not sure which changes (if any) they’ll implement and what the new question-mix will look like.

So here’s your dilemma—which GRE version best suits your test taking skills? Should you prepare now and take the current exam or wait for the newbie? Watch this site over the upcoming weeks as we observe the new exam take shape and pass our findings, insights, and tips on to you.

By the way, students who use Magoosh GRE improve their scores by an average of 8 points on the new scale (150 points on the old scale.) Click here to learn more.
