Q) What are the main components of a Goizueta Business School application?
A) Completed applications contain the following:

  • Online Application
  • $150 Application Fee
  • Résumé
  • Essays
  • GMAT or GRE Scores
  • English Language Test Scores
  • Transcripts
  • Recommendations
  • Interview

Q) What type of individual do you think would thrive at Goizueta, and why?
A) Someone who is outgoing, confident and demonstrates a lot of initiative thrives in our environment. We are a small program in a very collaborative environment. We have a strong focus on leadership and encourage all students to be active and engaged and take on a leadership role. Students will grow professionally but also personally – our program will be a transformational experience for them.

Q) International students often face additional sets of challenges when applying to programs in the U.S. Are there any resources you would recommend or advice you would share with international students applying to your school?
A) Since it is difficult for international students to visit campus, we encourage candidates to watch the archived admissions webinars on line. We recommend the services of EducationUSA to learn about life in the US as a student. It is always a good idea to connect with a current student and/or alumni from your region. If English is not your native language, we suggest spending time reading business journals in English and participating in English conversation classes.

Q) What is the biggest misconception you have encountered when it comes to getting admitted into the Goizueta program?
A) We do not have a weighted application – every component of the application is important. Your academics, test scores, professional work experience, leadership along with your essays, recommendations and interview are all aspects we consider.

Q) Business school is expensive! What type of financial aid do you offer to students in your program?
A) All students that apply for our Round 3 deadline (in January) are automatically considered for scholarship. Our scholarships range from 20% to full tuition. More than half of our students have some type of scholarship. Additionally, there are a variety of student loans are available for both domestic and international students.

Q) How do you think a Goizueta differs from an MBA at any other institution?
A) We are the only business school in the nation that combines a world-class business education, with the advantage of a small, intimate learning environment, and the benefits of a global, dynamic city. Our exclusive Management Practice (MP), which is a sequence of core and elective courses, integrates concepts from the classroom to the workplace. We are small by design – Goizueta has the smallest cohorts of any top 25 Full-Time US MBA program. Additionally, Atlanta is the #3 US city for Fortune 500 headquarters, and we take advantage of being located in this thriving global business city.

Q) Any last words you would like to share with prospective MBA students?
A) Be authentic – be yourself – do not be someone you think the Admissions Committee wants you to be. Share with us your interests beyond your professional experience – we want to get to know you personally as well. Visit campus – we offer several options – Super Saturday, Insight Days, class visits, and a women’s and diversity weekends.
