    1. Do your idiom flashcards contain exactly the same content as does your idiom book?!

    2. Do you periodically add your new discussed idioms to your idiom book? What has been the latest version?

    Thanks,

    • Mike McGarry

      John,
      I’m happy to respond. :-)
First of all, yes, the idioms flashcards and idiom ebook contain exactly the same information, simply in two different forms, because some folks prefer one or the other. When we made those, we really included what we felt were all the important idioms for the GMAT SC. I haven’t written many blogs on idioms since the publication of that ebook, so there aren’t a ton of “newly discussed idioms” that aren’t already in the book. At some point, it is possible that we may revise these products slightly, but they are quite thorough as is.
      Does all this make sense?
      Mike :-)

Thanks a lot, really thanks Mike,

But Magoosh idiom book was published in July 2013, and as I have seen in your SC idiom lessons, every Tuesday Kevin gives a mini-lecture on some idioms.

So, don’t his presentations, typically include new idioms?

        Thanks,

        • Mike McGarry

          John,
I’m happy to respond. :-) I talked to Kevin. Kevin primarily pulls idioms for his videos from the flashcards (the flashcard idioms are identical to those in the ebook). Every once in a while, he tosses in an extra idiom in response to a student question. He will depart from the standard list if a student has a particular request, but the standard list of idiom still reflects the priorities of the GMAT. From the point of view of what’s on the test, there has been no need to make any update. If you have questions about particular idioms, feel free to leave a comment on the article posting one of Kevin’s videos. If there is a particular idiom about which you are curious that is not covered in our list, then ask him, and maybe he will make a video about it.
          Does all this make sense?
          Mike :-)

    Margaret,

    Hi!

On Page 49, the exercise 3215 is explained as D is the correct answer, but the official magoosh answer by the link, and explanation video is A.

At first I had got D, following your explanations, but A also could be correct to me. What’s the correct answer (and explanation)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Donato Brito

      Dear Donato,
This is Mike :-) — I wrote that particular question and wrote most of the content for this ebook. I’m very sorry — the Text Explanation given on that page of the ebook gives the wrong answer and the wrong explanation. The OA is (A), and choice (D) is wrong. I’m not sure how that happened. You can see the correct explanation here:
      http://gmat.magoosh.com/questions/3215
Thank you very much for pointing this out. We are going to edit the book to correct this error.
Best of luck to you, my friend!
      Mike :-)

Please advise of when this and other known errors will be corrected in the idioms e-book. I just started to study for the GMAT, noticed that this error still exists, and want to be sure my time is used efficiently. Thanks!
